SafeFutures Youth Center
The mission of SafeFutures Youth Center is to create a caring extended family atmosphere at a center that provides the highest quality services, in order to fully develop the potential of everyone who enters through our doors. SFYC is dedicated to helping youth and their families stay focused on their future by offering a variety of engaging programs and activities. SFYC’s unique, culturally relevant services are built to provide a positive support system that helps youth make long-term life plans.
SFYC was founded in 1996 as a City of Seattle Human Services Department-operated program targeting at-risk Southeast Asian youth and families. SFYC became a non-profit organization in June 1999, received IRS 501c3 status and expanded our services to better serve a broader community, including East African, African American, Native American/Alaskan Native, Latino, Pacific Islander and other populations.
The Youth Center’s prevention and intervention programs and services aim to reduce youths’ involvement in the juvenile justice system, gangs and school truancy and drop out.
